There are events… and then there are Vinoy events.
This year marked my third time capturing the annual Great Bay Distributors celebration, and somehow it gets more incredible every single year.
Great Bay Distributors is a powerhouse — a large, women-led local family business that began decades ago and has grown into something truly remarkable. And what I admire most? They celebrate their people in a big way. This annual event isn’t just a party. It’s a thank-you. A tradition. A reflection of a team that feels more like family.
And I get to be part of it.
A Full Team for a Full-Scale Event
This is not a one-photographer type of night.
For an event of this scale and energy, I brought in my full team of three:
- Kyle (my husband) as the roaming event photographer, capturing candids, details, laughter, embraces, and all the in-between moments happening throughout the ballroom.
- Gabe as my dedicated photobooth assistant, keeping the on site prints flowing seamlessly and the energy high. Our friend Gabe has been our photobooth printer for about 4 years.
- And me — exactly where this client insists I be — behind the camera at the photobooth.
Most large events have a lead photographer who delegates the booth to someone else.
Not here.
This client wants me in the booth.
The board at Great Bay loves the images. They love the experience. They love how every single person who steps in front of my camera feels seen, celebrated, and confident. The booth isn’t just a side attraction — it’s part of the entertainment, part of the art, part of the tradition.
And honestly, that level of trust means everything.
The Setting: The Vinoy
The Vinoy always delivers that timeless luxury atmosphere — grand architecture, elegant ballrooms, polished service. This year’s theme? Casino night.
Think classic glamour.
Blackjack tables. Roulette wheels. Elevated décor. Gowns. Statement heels. Sharp suits. Lobster and ice-cold beers flowing. A room filled with genuinely happy people who are proud of where they work and who they work with.
There’s something powerful about photographing a company culture like that. You can feel it immediately.
Art That Lives Beyond the Event
One of the most meaningful parts of working with Great Bay Distributors is that my work doesn’t just live in a gallery link.
They proudly display my photography in their extensive corporate art collection.
Walking into their space and seeing my images printed, framed, and woven into the visual story of their company is something I never take lightly. It turns event coverage into something lasting. Something archival.
This was my third year capturing this celebration, and returning each year feels less like booking a gig and more like coming back to family. I also capture Great Bay’s annual Breakfast with Santa event for the team’s kiddos every year. I see the kids meet Santa for the first time, and watch them grow up.
Why I Stay in the Booth
At luxury events like this, it would be easy to step back and delegate.
But this client won’t have it any other way — and truthfully, neither would I. Many of our annual photobooth clients INSIST I am their photobooth photographer.
The photobooth becomes this beautiful micro-moment inside a massive event. One by one, team members step in. Some glamorous, some goofy, some sentimental. Some competitive after leaving the casino tables. And for a few seconds, it’s just us and the camera.
That consistency — that personal interaction — is why the images feel different.
And after three years, it’s more than just coverage. It’s tradition.
Being trusted year after year to capture a luxury, women-led, family-founded company’s biggest celebration of the year is something I’m incredibly proud of.
The Vinoy. Casino night. Lobster. Beer. Gowns. Games. Laughter.
And a room full of people who genuinely love where they work.
I can’t wait for year four. ♠️✨
