My First Mini Session St. Pete – Holiday Lights In The Park

Capture the Magic of the Holidays with a Stunning Portrait Session

This was my first time hosting a mini session event, and I had never offered 15-minute or 30-minute photo shoots before. Typically, when photographers hear potential clients inquire about “mini sessions,” they’re referring to shorter sessions at a lower price. A traditional mini session is actually part of a photographer-hosted event where multiple clients are photographed one after another within a set time block.

This year, I decided to try something different and host a mini session event. I started by pitching the idea to my friends and family, opening up a few dates to see if I could fill a time block. I wasn’t sure how it would go, but it turned out to be such a fun experience!

It all began with two families and their kids during the day, followed by sessions at night in the park. I was aiming for that dreamy, bokeh-filled look under the holiday lights. The timing couldn’t have been better with the holiday season in full swing. The grand finale of my holiday mini session in Vinoy Park, St. Petersburg, was nothing short of magical—my brother proposed to my soon-to-be sister-in-law at Santa’s sleigh! Ironically, he’d told me the week before that he was planning to propose.

The sessions themselves were fast-paced and laid-back, allowing for quick, casual captures with each family.

Take a look at the results! If you’re interested in a holiday lights session in the park, be sure to catch me next year! St. Pete, I’ll see you again soon.
